How to do social media marketing:

1.Know your goals:

Making or having goals is very crucial even in general life. Goals let us know where we are heading. It helps us to know if we are moving in the right direction.

Smaller goals lead to big results. Knowing your goals is important because what tool or strategy you use is dependent on what goals you have.

For example, the goal can be to gain more traffic or build a community, etc. Strategies can be very different with different goals. So make sure you know your goals well.

 2.Know your audience:

Knowing your target audience is very important when you market. For example, if you want to sell toys but you are targeting an adult audience then all the efforts you’re making are going to be zero.

If you do the same marketing to a young audience then not only your efforts are meaningful but also it is making a profit.

To determine your target audience here are some tips:

  • You can take reviews or know more about your existing customers.
  • Study more about your competitors and their audience. Look out for what is working for them and whatnot. Analyze them.
  • Differentiate between who is your target audience and who isn’t. This will help in the long run.
  • Use analytics tools to analyze your progress such as google analytics. Google Analytics helps to track the activity of your website such as how many people visited your site, for how long they stay on your site, etc.

3.Choose the right social media platform for marketing:

There are tons of platforms out there. You can not go out and market on every platform. This will be time confusing and you won’t be able to focus properly.

So, cutting down the list will help a lot. If you work with fewer options you will be able to focus more and your efficiency will also increase.

To choose the right platforms, know what you want, what your audience wants, who your audience is, etc. ask yourself some important questions and you’ll know which platforms to work on.

4. Create content:

Now you have to make content that will attract your target audience. As you know there is so much content out there and it is increasing day by day.

You have to make sure that your content stands out. Make your content engaging and unique.

Keep asking yourself questions like Why should the audience watch your content and not your competitor’s? Provide such content that you make a loyal fan base or audience. Focus on quality, not quantity. Don’t post for the sake of posting. This will help in the long run.

5. Analyze:

Analyzing your content may last but is not the least. Analyzing what you did differently than the last month made you go up or down is crucial.

This helps you know what is working for you. Analyzing helps you compare your performance.

There are different social media analytics tools available which you can use and know the data. There are free as well as paid options available out there. You can choose as per your requirements.
